eudemian Posted May 2, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 2, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have been one who has moaned in several threads about the slow delivery, and bizzare allocation method of Leica uv/ir filters. So to be fair I want to say thank you to Leica for delivering my two black filters (E39, E46) today as promised in an email respsonse to my criticism of their "method". I am still puzzled by the initial response that it was a shortage of filters that was causing the delay. I still maintain it was rather a distrubution policy and not a supply problem. I hope this means that all those waiting will soon have their filters. I ordered in january so I hope I have not displaced anyone who ordered earlier than this. AlanJW Posted May 2, 2007 Share #3 Posted May 2, 2007 This is week 18 when Leica said they'd be shipping, so I too am hopeful. But since disappointment is a function of expectation, my elevated expectations are likely to produce continuing disappointment. 8-)

adan Posted May 3, 2007 Share #8 Posted May 3, 2007 According to Leica's FAQ the E60s won't ship until end of May. Here in Denver I'm waiting for E60 and E49 (which last is due for release about now) I originally ordered E60 and E46, but my lens lineup changed a bit. Emailed Leica USA to inquire whether changes were permitted about a month ago, and was told my request had been "forwarded" - presumably to Solms. I've never heard anything further to either confirm or deny my request, so I guess I'll just find out when I open the package(s). I have a $3.00 49-46 stepdown ring waiting just in case, plus my dealer says he thinks we can come to a swap arrangement of some kind if needed, so I'm not sweating it. When they get here I'll shoot with them - until then I'll shoot without them. The FAQ also says Leica is splitting orders in some cases where one size is available significantly ahead of the other - that's a wait-and-see for me, also. colorflow Posted May 4, 2007 Share #14 Posted May 4, 2007 Leica replied that they will send me the correct 60mm filter I ordered (starting week 21) in addition to the wrong 43mm silver filter they sent me. That's better customer relations. Alan
dkamp Posted May 5, 2007 Share #15 Posted May 5, 2007 It took about one month from the date of my request to receive my two, chrome E39 filters. I live in the suburban Detroit, Michigan area. I was pretty pleased with Leica's response time. Perhaps the E39 size is more readily available.
marknorton Posted May 5, 2007 Share #16 Posted May 5, 2007 Yes, it's the larger filters which are delayed. I'm waiting for 3 55s, 2 60s and a 67, nothing.
35mmSummicron Posted May 5, 2007 Share #17 Posted May 5, 2007 took about a month and a half for me to get my two black E39 filters from leica, without any sort of followup/emailing/complaining. leica delivered as promised. i am VERY happy with my M8. fw 1.102 is pretty rockin, and the UV/IR filters means i can shoot colour work fairly comfortably now. guywalder Posted May 5, 2007 Share #20 Posted May 5, 2007 I recieved two black 46mm filters yesterday, the day after I dropped my camera off at Solms The delivery note says origonal source is Japan, does that mean that they are not being supplied by B&W? (who I presume manufacture in Germany??) Guy
