Hello All,

I recently purchased V-Lux 1. I need to use High ISO in low light and save image as RAW.

I am just wondering anyone know what's the best settings for the noise reduction in Photoshop elements 4.0 (included in the box). They particulally are

1) Strength

2) Preserve details

3) Reduce colour noise:) :) :)

Thanks a lot

JK

I am new at this forum, vith my new V LUX 1.

My opinion y that Photoshop has a lot of thinks, but not allways the best filters, etc.

For the noise I use NeatImage. Keeps the sharpness and takes out the noise very well. You can install it as a plug in and work from Photoshop.

I was affraid about noise of this camera, and after two days, There is really a lot of noise, but take a lok at this web and compare...

Digital Cameras, Digital Camera Reviews - The Imaging Resource!

Compare the PANASONIC FZ50 (99% the same camera) with many other popular cameras (olympys, canon, nikon...) and will see that our camera is not the most noisy.

Well, I find NeatImage better than Photoshop. Any process takes out completly the noise.

Sombody recomended me NoiseWare or Noise Ninja as better. ¿...?

In any way I thing that to make a correct process we must know all the diferent "concepts", and as I am amateur I need to try it several times to find the best.

When you take out the noise... you take our the sharpness.

Thanks a lot Salvador,

I heard about NeatImage, it should be good. But never used. Can It also remove the high ISO grain in the image.

JK

Yes, NeatImage is exactly an ISO remover. But I found much better the NoiseWere. Ther is a lot of diferrence and this last one keeps better the original sharpness and colours.

Does any body here is using a 4GB card with this camera or knows it this camera support this size?

Thanks

I use 4096 MB Secure Digital from "CnMemory First Class Gold 133x". No problems at all. Transmits at 19.95 MB/sec.
