troylim Posted June 28, 2014 Share #1 Â Posted June 28, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just bought my first Leica combo. How can I tell if this 35mm has a FLE? Bought it from B&H. Just wanted to make sure it is not the older version. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Advertisement Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Hi troylim, Take a look here 35mm Summilux. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jeff S Posted June 28, 2014 Share #2  Posted June 28, 2014 Code 11663, as noted on the box, is the FLE version. And your serial #424….. is beyond the serial number for the earlier version that ended production in 2009 (per Puts' Chronicle).  To be really sure, if you toss your lens in the pool, it should float*.  Jeff  *Do not try this. Enjoy your lens.

wattsy Posted June 28, 2014 Share #4 Â Posted June 28, 2014 The entirely different hood shape, fitting, and quite different lens barrel design are also good indicators that you don't have the "older lens".
