Let's start a new thread on this , since this is a hot topic and we have some final color with firmware 1.102 and some new profiles and such. This was shot outdoors with studio light fill in , I have a Dynalite XP1100 sine battery that i can power my studio lights without a AC plug , works extremely nice for stuff like this. Anyway this is shot with Leica filters and WB the image than changing to different profiles . C1 in 3.77 i will be doing some more testing here but ths is a start image.

1) C1 new profile with IR

2) C1 Davids profile

3) C1 Edmunds Tuned 1 profile

4) C1 edmunds Linear profile

5) lightroom default

Guy - the LR default looks pretty good to my - especially given the close to blown highlights. How are the greens in closeness to your memory of the actual context? Skin on all of them looks a bit close to red... were you using AWB or Daylight? Is WB As shot in LR or have you adjusted?

Certainly in terms of my own workflow, despite some glitches and annoyances, I'm defaulting to LR now for pretty well everything.

Good idea to start the thread.

Here is another sample with a 35mm lux lens. It does have a leica look to it this lens. i can see why folks like it. Davids and Phase default look very similar, lightroom looks extremely good . Edmunds tuned 1 has nice punch . Shot in Mexico of some friends out on a ride in the dunes. i WB off her white shirt which is probably better than the previous WB which was off his black belt above

1) C1 new profile with IR

2) C1 Davids profile

3) C1 Edmunds Tuned 1 profile

4) C1 edmunds Linear profile

5) lightroom default

Phase did a pretty good job on there default and i do like Lightroom also. i have some more to do and will put them up in a little while . Trying to get all the colors out there to see what things are doing. These mexico shots have some color so it should be interesting. Be back with more in a bit. But if you have something to follow the same 5 profiles and processors to add please do. Now i did have the Leica filters on the lenses. Also i did not play with any contrast or recovery stuff just tried to keep the exposures looking the same the Linear needs a bump up in exposure. But there is a lot of elbow room to work with any of these but we have to try and look at defaults than take it from there. And defaults are tough too, this is a really hard test to balance everything to equal but it does give us a nice idea and really that is all we can go by. But still very usefull

I still favor the first and last but I favor the first more strongly with this set. The lack of references like skin tones makes it more difficult since we don't know what the original scene looked like. The first just looks more natural and believable to me.

John agreed the first and the last in these kinds of general shots look best. I will do some more with skin tones this week and we can fine tune it a bit more. I will say David's and Edmunds Tuned are no slouch either both very good and really it is down to nitpicking time. really none of them jump at you and say use me, they all have very good qualities to them. Now this one is really hard just becuase way too much color going on but i did it so what the heck. We will try some skin tones later and see what w can come up with but like I said earlier this just gves us something to look at and see what looks best to you. Any profile or lightroom there is a lot of control to make evry small to radical changes depending on what you like but i personnally am feeling much better about where we are today with this. we really have come a long way and our corners are very clean and i am almost completely forgetting the whole filter issue and there is something to be said for that besides we need our filters which we really do need them delivered. Okay last one with Mexico like this for now. Crappy photo but i did shoot it for this in mind. 28 cron

Little off topic but here is my dilema between Lightroom and C1 as it is today with C1 . With Lightroom i can remap my images pretty easy with the recovery tool and the fill. C1 i have a much tougher time controlling a image like this about pulling the highlights down and maybe it is me but until C1 version 4 comes out with controls like recovery and fill , images like this make it tough

First one is Lightroom and second is C1. My concern here is the tonal range more than the color. Watch the shirt
