I am a newspaper photographer. I look forward to my time away from my larger Canon cameras and lenses, to my time with my M9p and Leica lenses. My usual application for my Leica M system is that of beauty, and tranquility, a time away from the gritty city incidents that I cover for my newspaper. Yes, I am aware of the many famous war images that were made with a Leica camera, but for me, sunsets and clouds and flowers are my escape photography with my Leica. I also like to photograph airplanes, mostly at sunset. So it was a different type of photography that I brought my Leica to the other day in Bedford,MA., where a GulfStream 1V jet had crash 36 hours earlier. I was to be the "pool" photographer, which means I go out to the crash site and then I must give my photos to all organizations that want them. This was done mostly by giving the photos to the Associated Press. 99 percent of the photos of the crashed jet that I snapped were with my Canon cameras. Here is one that was snapped with an M9P and a 24mm Elmarit. Below that is a photo type that I usually make.
