microview Posted May 9, 2014 Share #1 Posted May 9, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm sure this site will be familiar to many, but I have only just come across it: Gerd Waloszek. Anyone contemplating buying the camera ought to read (in German or English) some of these chapters; and there's a mass of unprocessed jpegs that show the capabilities of lens and sensor (and the key difference from M images!) and allow trialling in Lightroom etc. There are even sections on possible problems with wear/breakage. Hope this helps someone, like myself, still tempted – notwithstanding results with my M and four classic Leica lenses, collected after a lot of 'trial and error'. waloszek Posted May 10, 2014 Share #3 Posted May 10, 2014 Thank you that you find my X Vario pages useful. Most of the pages are in English, though, since I try to address an international audience -- and maintaining the pages in two languages was too much for me... Best regards, Gerd

Thanks very much for posting this very comprehensive review. He's got quite a site there, and his close-up experiments are really interesting. He has another article on the "hype" surrounding the retina display and an excellent discussion on how browsers either use interpolation or increase pixels. This is so very important for clients to see your work at its best, so now you've got some basis for recommending views of your website in a particular browser, here: The Retina Display Fallacy
