onceuponatime Posted April 25, 2014 Share #1 Posted April 25, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) T : Designed by Audi Sigma Quattro : Audio Quattro T (1) was an opportunity to put the finest IQ apsc sensor on a Leica. We would have seen how M lenses sing (compared to the one layer flatness of Monochrom, M240, M9). Oh well. Still .. T (1) has innovative features : unibody. 16GB memory, non body damaging strap lugs. Advertisement Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Hi onceuponatime, Take a look here T2 with Sigma Quattro sensor ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
biglouis Posted April 25, 2014 Share #2 Posted April 25, 2014 The sensor in both the existing DP Merrills and the future Quattros is far too specialised. I'm not saying it would not be fantastic to use with Leica glass but the existing sensor tops out at iso800 and even the new Quattro is only supposed to add one-stop of improvement. I think users in the market segment of the T would be very disappointed with that. LouisB
sydkugelmass Posted April 25, 2014 Share #3 Posted April 25, 2014 Agree. Owning a SD1M with 18-35mm, too, the flight envelope is too limited. Exceptional quality but so much light always required. ISO range for high IQ: 100-400.

If T was aimed solely at M240, M9 users then Sigma Quattro ISO 1600 colour would been just fine, and mono Sigma Merrill, Quattro super upto ISO 12560, which would been just fine for Monochrom users. However, as T is aimed at users of M & outside M, I suppose it was sensible to put in a "generic" sensor.
