Advertisement Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Hi imants, Take a look here lenses too slow. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
SteveYork Posted April 25, 2014 Share #42  Posted April 25, 2014 Physics say: the lenses are either fast or small - for the target audience of the T, small is certainly more important. Add to that, that Leica does produce a nice selection of fast M primes. But as the T system grows, faster lenses certainly will come. Best regards, Peter  Nor does Leica want to produce something that competes directly with their top-dog. Remember the CL? It stole sales of the M5.
Doc_P Posted April 25, 2014 Share #43 Â Posted April 25, 2014 I will start with the 50 Lux on the T, maybe the zoom. The Zoom on the Leica X Vario is outstanding, please do not forget this. Nonetheless I hope for some primes in the Lux class...
henning Posted April 25, 2014 Share #44  Posted April 25, 2014 There are small cameras and fast lenses and I probably see and use more cameras on a daily basis than most here so I do know what is out there Last workshop I had 3 students who probably owned everything made. One has four wheeled bags full of cameras and lenses all bought in the last few years, sure a collector but also serious in his craft as a photographer.  If you're looking for fast lenses to provide shallow depth of field, your best bets right now are FF Canon/Nikon/Leica M. APS-C is not the right place to start  The T is not a camera that would sell well with a 18-56/2. Even a 23/1.4 is a stretch, as it would be noticeably heavier and larger than with the offered 23/2. The Fuji's have faster lenses, and they are larger and heavier with them, but they are more enthusiast oriented so that's fine.  As for your 3 students or yourself owning everything made, that is just a ridiculous statement. I can guarantee than many on this forum and that definitely includes me have items you or your three students don't have and have likely never seen. I certainly don't have everything by a wide margin, but in photography there are many specialized things that have only been made in very small numbers. AlanG Posted April 25, 2014 Share #45 Â Posted April 25, 2014 Â - it took Nikon a decade to build "the Nikon System" as it eventually came to rule the 35mm world. Â So one would buy whatever system is complete enough for you today and re-visit the T in a decade or so? Â It has been about 6 years since the S2 was announced in DPReview and it took a while for the announced lenses to become available and I don't think some are out yet - 30mm tilt shift and 300mm. Likewise, a lot of Nikon shooters have been waiting on a vaguely rumored 17mm TSE for a few years now. Some are buying the Canon 17 TSE and Sony A7r instead of waiting. imants Posted April 25, 2014 Author Share #46  Posted April 25, 2014 Henning I know what camera lenses are out there, the thread is not about finding lenses it is about that the auto lenses available in the T system were slow in my opinion. I did not ask for advice  Where did I say that I was looking for lenses?

imants Posted April 25, 2014 Author Share #48 Â Posted April 25, 2014 If you read you will see that I am referring to the prime and the zoom on offer ..............
rramesh Posted April 26, 2014 Share #49 Â Posted April 26, 2014 I am surprised Leica did not introduce an ultra compact 28 Elmarit to go with the T. This would have been desired by even the M users. Maybe they might launch it around Photokina.
Berth Posted April 26, 2014 Share #50 Â Posted April 26, 2014 If you read you will see that I am referring to the prime and the zoom on offer .............. Â If you overlook the fact they also 'offered' mounting every M lens on the T-system at the same time. Which I guess you did.
