bocaburger Posted April 23, 2014 Share #2 Â Posted April 23, 2014 I was there a few years ago, to a place called Maison du Leica.
Reminic Posted April 23, 2014 Share #3 Â Posted April 23, 2014 My first answer too would be La Maison du Leica, boulevard Beamarchais, but actually, that may depends on what you're looking for. Â There are two stores (the one situated boulevard Beaumarchais and the one in rue de la pompe) plus one booth in the departement store "Galeries Lafayette Homme". Â Size: The two stores are roughtly in the same ballpark in size, the one in the rue de la pompe being a bit larger, I believe. Luxury Items: The booth and the store in rue de la pompe might be more targeted at those markets, so if that's what you're looking for, they might be it. History: The traditional one is boulevard Beaumarchais (that's the main street for photo boutiques in Paris) Second hands: Definitely the boulevard Beaumarchais, no questions about that. Service for pros: Probably boulevard Beaumarchais, rue de la pompe, then the booth, in that order Aftersale service for repairs, etc.: That one is handled in another place, near the place de la nation. Â Hoping this helps, and wishing you a nice stay !
xalo Posted April 23, 2014 Share #4 Â Posted April 23, 2014 You could also check out Photo Suffren(dotcom), at the other end of town compared to the aforementioned, not too far from the Eiffel Tower. Smaller shop, repairs, good advice, some choice in 2nd hand equipment (none of mine right now). Â Alexander
Guest JMF Posted April 25, 2014 Share #5 Â Posted April 25, 2014 Discovered this nice little store recently: Â http://www.photo-vincent.com/ Â located in the heart of Paris !
xalo Posted April 25, 2014 Share #6  Posted April 25, 2014 Yes, Photo Vincent is good address, too. (It's actually where I first tried an M.) It's also not too far from Suffren. Have a pleasant stay!  Alexander  P.S.: Just saw that Photo Vincent moved to Rue Sainte Anne, in the 2nd arrondissement; meaning it's no longer close to Suffren — but between Opéra and Louvre, sort of.
