Jeff S Posted June 17, 2014 Share #22 Posted June 17, 2014 ... but the price difference was US$900! Price is the same for black/silver at major US dealers. Is the practice different in Hong Kong, or was this specific to your situation? Jeff
Winedemonium Posted June 17, 2014 Author Share #23 Posted June 17, 2014 Price is the same for black/silver at major US dealers. Is the practice different in Hong Kong, or was this specific to your situation? Jeff Hi Jeff, officially they are the same price. The black Monochrom sells at a discount in the grey market, while the silver one doesn't as it is still such a new product. If you buy through the normal channels here they are the same price. A large percentage of grey market goods end up with mainland Chinese consumers. Some - like the 50-APO - sell for more than the official price. The official Leica channel here still does a very big trade, though like a lot of HK retail, a lot of the customers are visitors from mainland China rather than HK residents.
