Jeff S Posted April 13, 2014 Share #21 Â Posted April 13, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Any ideas about how the M240 in the photo at the top of the page ended up with a black dot instead of the orange-red dot that is standard fare for the M240?? Â Many people prefer the black dot, as discussed here, including me. DAG sells them, and others prefer DIY. Â My black M8.2 came standard with one, as Jaap says, but the chrome M8.2 came standard with a red dot. Â Remember, too, that lots of folks paid over $1000 for the M9-P, essentially a dressed up M9 with better screen, script and NO dot. Leica apparently knows folks like a twist, including those who prefer the no-dot minimalism. I wouldn't be surprised at a similar M 240 (or later) edition at some point. tobey bilek Posted April 18, 2014 Share #22 Â Posted April 18, 2014 I was willing to pay for the chrome M9 and better screen. Not willing to pay anything for proper color or no dot. Â I refused to buy a painted M. I do not appreciate camera patina.
