Lens info not showing on EXIF

I assume you are using a 6-bit coded lens. If not, then the camera doesn't know what lens you are using, unless you set that info manually. If you are using a 6-bit coded lens, try to clean the registration window on the bayonet (on the body, about 5 o'clock position when you face the camera, with the lens off). This could become dirty if you ever used a manually coded lens - the ink from the felt tip pens used to do the coding can become spread over the bayonet and smudge the read-out window. Also try a few different lenses. If none of this works, then I'd guess something is wrong with the 6-bit read-out system in the camera.

I am wondering if anyone can help me out here. My M240 used to be able to show lens info in EXIF date but recently it stop showing Lens info / model and I have not idea why.

Can anyone shed some lights on this issue?

I have had the same problem, but it was not a bug. EXIF for the lens is only showing when shooting DNG. I have by mistake change to JPG, maybe you have done the same.

I contacted Solms, and they confirmed this.

Thank you so much Albert.

The jpg was indeed the issue, I now change back to DNG and lens info comes back again..

Cheers!

by the way, when I send the jpg picture to Leica, their customer support told me they can still see the Lens info. I don't know how they can see it as it clearly not showing on mine.
