I had a roll of just expired Ektar I wanted to use and for a couple of days last week the rain stopped and the clouds parted and so for the first time since last year I loaded my M7 and ventured out.

I still prefer the now discontinued Fuji Reala for landscapes but as 100 ISO colour print film has become an endangered species there isn't a lot of choice. I still have three more rolls of expired Ektar but as might be expected the clouds have rolled back in and the rain continues to fall.

As for how it would look converted to B&W :-

A view from slightly further away showing more of the spread of the branches.

Howard,

I like the b&w pictures and I prefer the last one a bit more for its larger scope but even more, the tones seem slightly livelier.

Thanks. I moved closer in order to get the fallen branch into the foreground but as I only had the 50mm lens with me I lost a lot of the trees spread. I must say I prefer the black and white versions. Perhaps Ektar is a bit more versatile than I thought.
