Iduna Posted March 18, 2014 Share #2 Posted March 18, 2014 Howard, this is how beech forest is looking these days. Your framing is nice. I hope we''# soon see some foliage back again.
pauledell Posted March 18, 2014 Share #3 Posted March 18, 2014 Howard, A fine shot with great composition, nice colors and sharpness. I'll bet you could make this as good in b&w by working on the tones of the trees. Paul
}{B Posted March 18, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted March 18, 2014 I had a roll of just expired Ektar I wanted to use and for a couple of days last week the rain stopped and the clouds parted and so for the first time since last year I loaded my M7 and ventured out. I still prefer the now discontinued Fuji Reala for landscapes but as 100 ISO colour print film has become an endangered species there isn't a lot of choice. I still have three more rolls of expired Ektar but as might be expected the clouds have rolled back in and the rain continues to fall. As for how it would look converted to B&W :- Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! pauledell Posted March 18, 2014 Share #6 Posted March 18, 2014 Howard, I like the b&w pictures and I prefer the last one a bit more for its larger scope but even more, the tones seem slightly livelier. Paul

Paul Thanks. I moved closer in order to get the fallen branch into the foreground but as I only had the 50mm lens with me I lost a lot of the trees spread. I must say I prefer the black and white versions. Perhaps Ektar is a bit more versatile than I thought.
