Nick De Marco Posted May 3, 2007 Share #21 Posted May 3, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well my lens arrived last week and i just developed my first (black and white) film with it. I like the fact it is small and light, and that you don't need to focus. i was impressed that nearly all (infact I think all) 36 exposures were correctly exposed - something I was worried about given the angle of field of the lens compared to the meter in the R3A. Generaly the sharpness/quality was very good. However, the vignetting was about the worst I have ever seen. I have had to cut big portions out fo the frames to get rid of ugly black corners. Is this a common feature or do i have a bad copy? Anyway, here is a gallery of my first photos using the 15mm: Ultrawide Photo Gallery by Nick De Marco at pbase.com

Leicamateur Posted May 4, 2007 Share #22 Posted May 4, 2007 Nick, I also have the 15mm, but didn't have a big chance to use it a lot. I made some test shots at night... so vignetting can't be noticed if there is any. I took my 15mm along the other day when I went to a park and guess what... I forgot my screw to M mount adapter so I couldn't use it. Me so stupid. I hope to use it on the weekend then I can look for vignetting and let you know the results. christer Posted May 4, 2007 Share #23 Posted May 4, 2007 I use it a lot. Vignetting never was a problem, but then I am b+w man. Ok there was a lot of vignetting when I used a too small filter. Chris
Nick De Marco Posted May 4, 2007 Share #24 Posted May 4, 2007 A filter Chris? Are we talking about the same CV 15mm lens? Mine does not appear to have a filter thread...
Photoskeptic Posted May 4, 2007 Share #25 Posted May 4, 2007 Nick, the CV 15 takes an E39 filter with an o-ring to make a snug fit.
