roguewave Posted March 10, 2014 Share #1 Posted March 10, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Back in 1977 my wife & I very often found ourselves having dinner a very popular spot in Chinatown, on Elizabeth Street. The mayor at that time was, Ed Koch and most of the people that worked directly with him would usually have both lunch & later dinner there. In fact much of the day to day decisions were often hammered out and on display open to all that had any intelligence about this spot. As it turned out, on a rather calm evening in October, as we had diner, the Pell Street Flying Dragons murdered a rival gang member. I have always loved Pell Street. It's like a Dragon, as it curves around to the east & south, disappearing into darkness. The wife & I revisited this week. It's almost like we never left. Inscrutable, as always.
