X Vario actuation count

How does one check the actuation count on a X Vario? I'd be grateful for an answer. Thanks in advance!

Good question but what difference does it makes? This type of camera will not get affected by any count. No curtain, no mirror no mechanical thing to worry about.

M9 and MM have a 'unique image id' number in exif in hexadecimal

M has a digital 'unique image id' that is semi random and generated from a new 'seed' every time the camera is turned on. Only Leica knows the algorithm that allows decoding of this.

The XV has a 36 character hexadecimal 'Unique Raw Data id' which presumably translates into something ..... there are a lot of zeroes at the end so maybe it is read backwards ......

Some clever chap will no doubt sort out what it means ......

^ Thanks thighslapper! I hope someone can throw some more light on this.

@XVarior, the actuation count would be useful to know when buying a used camera.

Ah, I thought it's used to know how many shots the camera had taken!

The XVarior

That is correct - the actuation count is the number of times the shutter has been fired. You are right that it may not be relevant for this type of shutter, but it does give a useful indication of how much the camera has been used when buying a pre-owned camera.
