CaptZoom Posted February 25, 2014 Share #1 Posted February 25, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anyone here using the XV with strobes? If so, could you comment on your experiences? One point of clarification needed: does the XV feature a leaf shutter? If so, does it sync at all/most speeds? Presumably that's the reason the flash sync speed is not marked on the shutter dial. Advertisement Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Hi CaptZoom, Take a look here Leica XV and Strobes. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
leepoe Posted February 25, 2014 Share #2 Posted February 25, 2014 Yes, it is a leaf shutter. Set the XV to studio flash and it will trigger a strobe with electronic eye.
2wk Posted February 25, 2014 Share #3 Posted February 25, 2014 It works great! I just used it with pocket wizards in the "forced on" flash mode. Syncs at all speeds. This is a huge point for the XV for me. I did find it funny that the guys working the Leica Store in Los Angeles told me it definitely does not have a leaf shutter..
