steve kessel Posted April 23, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted April 23, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) For those of you with access to BBC4, I truly recommend this documentary which was on last week and is repeated tonight. It features a colour system devised in the early 1900's, the beauty of which is inconceivable. Albert Kahn was a wealthy patron of photography whose vision was to create an image archive of different cultures to promote human understanding. Â Â "12.50am Edwardians in Colour: The Wonderful World of Albert Kahn The first of a five-part series chronicling the journeys of photographers who travelled the globe after the invention of the first true colour picture system in 1907. This episode follows trips made in 1913, by Auguste Leon to London and Cornwall, and Marguerite Mespoulet along the west coast of Ireland, which were part of several efforts to record memorable events of the 20th century"
