I have a set of Leica-R primes which I use for video. The lenses are all circa 1981-1983 and color match each other very well (they all exhibit the slight greenish-cold tint). I am considering adding an Elmarit-R 24/2.8 to the set but I am concerned about color matching it with the other lenses which is important for mixing lenses on video work. It is hard to find info on who exactly (Minolta or Leitz) supplied the glass and applied the coatings on this lens.

So this is a question for users of this lens who also have other R lenses. Does it match in color (and contrast, for that matter) with your other R lenses?

Any insight is appreciated.

The Elmarit 24 is a very strong lens. It's very important to keep the lens as close to the horizontal as possible. I have changed the mount for use on my D800. On my D800, it does not focus to infinity, but I never shoot to infinity. For a 24 mm lens, it is amazing, but you need to keep the lens on the level or distortion will ruin the frames. It has a very unusual close focusing range, with very little distortion. The color rendering is very close to the R19, an even more spectacular lens.
