Hasselblad FE lens on Viso?

Has anyone ever mounted a Hasselblad lens to a Viso? As the film plane to mount distance is larger then with 35mm I'm wondering if you could get infinity focus with the Viso. I'm interested because one of my favorite lenses of all time was the Hasselblad 150/2.8 Sonnar FE. For my money the best lens Zeiss ever made in the 80-200 range, super sharp with beautiful transition from incredible sharpness to creamy smooth OOF areas. It sells at a huge discount used today. I'd love to be able to use that lens again.

I use Hasselblad lens on the R8 with the Digital R Module.

But, you might have to email them and explain what you want to do.

The are very responsive and helpful.

In my experience, I think that the 60mm R Macro lens was sharper than the Hasselblad 80mm C. However, both were used lenses.

I know I can get a Zoerk Hasselblad to R adapter ( I believe they also have LTM as well) and cameraquest has a R to M adapter. My question before I spend $400. on adapters is will I get infinity focus on the Viso?

 

I'm wondering if the flange to film plane distance of the Hasselblad 200 bodies is more then the M8+Viso. If that's the case then I could use Hassy lenses with the above mentioned adapters (Zoerk has a shift adapter as well so you can use the MF image circle for shift on 35).

Since you can mount Viso lenses on the R, and I think that Leica made such adapters, you should be able to get the Hasselblad to focus at infinity.

Yes, that make sense. If the Leica V lenses work on the R and the Hasselblad do as well -then the Hassy should work as well on the Viso (with adapter). Thanks.

Actually now that I think about it a bit more I'm pretty sure the M+Viso has a greater film plane to mount distance (compared to the R) so because the V and Hasselblad lenses can focus to infinity on the R does not guarantee that the Hasselblad lenses will focus to infinity on the Viso (as the R lenses cannot).

 

I guess for the price of just the adapters required to use a Hasselblad lens I should just get a 135/4 Tele-elmar and be happy.

I found a web page that gives the camera mounts & register distances for a long list of cameras.

 

Leica R = 47.0

Leica M = 27.95 (or 27.8)

Leica M + Viso II or III = 68.8

Hasselblad 200 = 74.9

 

So R lenses cannot focus to infinity because the Viso film to flange distance is much greater on the Viso then the R. Hasselblad lenses should be no problem and would require a spacer to get to the 74.9 distance of the blad. Lots of cheap old F Hasselblad lenses out there. I wonder how the Zeiss 150/2.8 and 110/2 stack up against the Leica 135/4 and 90/2.8 heads on the Viso?
