Philinflash Posted April 25, 2007 Share #41 Posted April 25, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Photo of Paul Muldoon to demonstrate my point... It looks like the noise from your shutter interrupted his reading, lol.
Advertisement Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Hi Philinflash, Take a look here M8 -- Shutter Noise. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
edlaurpic Posted April 26, 2007 Share #42 Posted April 26, 2007 Stevez4 I guess I am a dinasour, tool. I knew Marty and loved having him machine special mounts for me, etc, partly just to hang out and watch him work in his shop. Great guy. Regarding the shutter noise issue, the idea of holding off recocking the shutter until one's finger lets up on the release seems to be a perfect solution, as others have noted. Nothing about the M8 bothers me more than the shutter. It isn't just the noise, it's the fact that the act is attenuated by having the rewinding happen as the end of the shutter releasing action. These should be separate actions.
wparsonsgisnet Posted April 26, 2007 Share #43 Posted April 26, 2007 I am in favor of a user-actuated delay as well. I used to do this with the motor for my M6. After it cocked the shutter, I turned it off. Then, after taking the pic, I waited and turned it on. This changed the noise profile to an enormous degree.
