Got Numbers that begin to clear? No comments yet. A shame to have erased the number of photos that have left me focus. Amén. Welcome, dear visitor! wda Posted February 16, 2014 Share #2 Posted February 16, 2014 Sorry to see more evidence of number marking degradation. I have it on my M9 menu buttons. Not sure what you mean in your last sentence. Can you clarify?

Gobdulm Posted February 16, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted February 16, 2014 Central focus, not a point, AF. Not a user error. The machine was "OK". Welcome, dear visitor! Phil75 Posted February 16, 2014 Share #6 Posted February 16, 2014 If there is an evident issue, just contact the customer service per phone. Sometimes that's even quicker than posting and carrying out a long conversation in the forum (what by the way does not solve anything). As far as I was concerned end of last year, I was surprised very positively.
2wk Posted February 16, 2014 Share #7 Posted February 16, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does it really cost them THAT much more to engrave the dial vs screening it? I noticed this on my monochrom and then looked on my M6 TTL, which is engraved.
XVarior Posted February 16, 2014 Share #8 Posted February 16, 2014 Central focus, not a point, AF. Not a user error. The machine was "OK". Is this new behavior of your camera? The dial wearing out means like you had it for some time, but then, your input on the autofocus sound like the camera is new and you're discovering AF issues. As John "in this forum" did, you should return it and get a replacement, report the issue to Leica while we wait to get a firmware update.
vsel Posted February 16, 2014 Share #9 Posted February 16, 2014 I have experienced the same erasing of numbers/letters on my X1. Have had it for a while now, but it started to be troublesome after 6 months of normal use. Never happened to my M6 with engravings which I had for 7 years. Just not good enough for such expensive equipment "made for professional use". V.
harvey999999 Posted February 16, 2014 Share #10 Posted February 16, 2014 There are long posts elsewhere in this Forum discussing apparent faults in the X Vario Automatic Focus. I have that problem myself. Return the camera to Leica, or hope for a firmware update.
barjohn Posted February 17, 2014 Share #11 Posted February 17, 2014 It's a USER PROBLEM you shouldn't use a camera that mis-focuses.
waloszek Posted February 17, 2014 Share #12 Posted February 17, 2014 Photos that still contain the original Exif data would be helpful for a closer analysis. Some photos suggest that focus was too close. Best regards, Gerd
