Advertisement Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Hi 2wk, Take a look here trading in medium format for an X1?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Steve Lane Posted February 17, 2014 Share #22 Posted February 17, 2014 I echo sentiments already posted on this thread - if possible try before you buy. The X1 has some idiosyncrasies that take a bit of getting used to (poor battery life, slow focusing, poor screen refresh rate). But none of these have prevented me falling in love with it as my day to day camera. I love its simplicity, sharp lens and tiny size...so much so that my DSLR rarely comes out to play anymore. SmithyT Posted February 20, 2014 Author Share #23 Posted February 20, 2014 It has arrived!! I have to thank Red Dot as this is a gorgeous example of a second hand camera, near mint in fact, so I am very happy. Due to work I haven't been able to do more than play with ISO 1600 in the house last night but I was very impressed with just that. I think I will use the viewfinder most of the time since I am used to having one but I did indulge in a Billingham Avea 6 pocket which fits the X1 very well with the viewfinder on. Yes it bulks it up but i'm planning on carrying it around in my normal bag so I like the extra protection. I will give it a good first outing when I do a market stall on Saturday. I know I should have found one to play with first, but thats not always do-able so I just jumped straight in and so far, it just feels right. Where do those living statues come from? I am sure there is a conspiracy. I am not sure if I had just had a wedding at the registry office I wouldn't want to find one standing outside! I don't know though, the odd thing was that I was working around there all day but suddenly he was there, never saw him arrive, I just turned around and there he was!
