PeterP Posted February 6, 2014 Share #21 Posted February 6, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Mac somehow has issue with the formatting. I download the formatting software, and it just won't work on the SD card. But when use a Windows version. It works fine immediately. Best is save the file in a portable HD, and reformat the SD card regularly. I have never in all the years shooting digital (10+years for pro DSLRs, 16 years for pocket digitals)) formatted a card on the computer, this is obviously a PC thing, and have never had a bit of trouble. I have either used straight out of the box (default) formatting, or in the case of M8 formatted in camera. The whole concept of formatting on computer is foreign to me. Or maybe its a Leica thing! Never formatted for any of my Canon DSLRs, Pentax GX1, Fuji EX1, various Canon, Nikon and Fuji pocket cameras. I would never dream of downloading formatting software. Apparently you are unaware of the fact that if you spend a few hours reading threads on this subject, and download and apply third party software, you might or might not achieve a second of improved SD card speed of some kind. I actually read all this stuff, including various speed charts, etc, and I figure that doing so was a spectacular waste of time.

FMB Posted February 8, 2014 Share #25 Posted February 8, 2014 The second was the camera just froze with no message and a black screen but with the red light showing it was writing something but after a minute or so. No reponse from any of the buttons. I again removed and replaced the battery and everything was back to normal From time to time I've had semi or black screens meanwhile red light was twinkling in the back; always ocurred when unconsciously I pushed the video button...
