Gary Clennan Posted January 26, 2014 Share #1 Posted January 26, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all. Do I have any options for using a android based device (Samsung S4) as a remote viewer on my M240? Mainly used for composition and confirming proper focus point. I do not need to control any other features. I would love the ability to use something like this for tripod based landscape shooting which I often do. Any options? I saw that Cam-ranger but I don't think it is compatible.
Advertisement Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Hi Gary Clennan, Take a look here Remote Viewer for M240?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Guest redge Posted January 26, 2014 Share #2 Posted January 26, 2014 I have the multifunction hand grip which can be used to tether the camera to a USB port on a computer. This can be used with Leica Shuttle or, I've read, Lightroom. It will give one immediate post-photograph feedback from which one can adjust composition, etc. However, the M 240 does not have HDMI out. This means that the only pre-photograph views are from the rangefinder, the LCD screen and (if you have one) the electronic viewfinder. There has been discussion about a third-party workaround, including on this site, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
