Tigger314159 Posted January 16, 2014 Share #1 Posted January 16, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have recently received my M9 back from service at Solms and noticed that the viewfinder frame lines only move between infinity and 1 metre, even though the lens focuses to ~0.7m. Is this correct? The frame lines on my M6 move all the way to 0.7m.
Advertisement Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Hi Tigger314159, Take a look here Viewfinder frame movement on M9. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
k_g_wolf ✝ Posted January 16, 2014 Share #2 Posted January 16, 2014 Yes, this should be depending on the attached lens. Try to compare if you have them at hand. Best GEORG
adan Posted January 17, 2014 Share #3 Posted January 17, 2014 The important thing to check is whether the rangefinder image also stops moving at 1 meter, because if that is true, you have lost the ability to focus closer (and you need to have Leica fix it). The lens focusing cam drives both the movement of the framelines, and of the focusing patch image. However, there is also a bumper or stop within the camera for the arm that touches and follows the lens cam, and if misadjusted, the camera's arm can hit the bumper and stop even if the lens still has some travel available.
