JeTexas Posted January 16, 2014 Share #1 Posted January 16, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) The shutter button on my M9 has gotten increasingly hard to press. After you press it a few times, it loosens back up, but it's always stuck when I take it out of the bag. Is it safe to put a dab of lubricant on the button or am I stuck taking it into the shop? Advertisement Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Hi JeTexas, Take a look here M9 shutter button sticking. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ggriswold Posted January 18, 2014 Share #2 Posted January 18, 2014 Lube could migrate down to a switch and render the camera useless. If it isn't under warranty you could use a toothpick and try, but my hunch is no. That being said the switch is probably a microswitch which is far enough away. Do you feel lucky? Don't use 3in1 oil. Get a good oil.. Singer Sewing machine oil has always been highly thought of. Thin and clear and takes about 30 years to gel.
