2014 - Possibly a big year for Leica

So a panasonic at increased price, although not 4 to 5 times, is ok?

Well, they do sell … <shrug> I’m not interested in a Panaleica myself but if somebody wants to buy one of those, then why not. I have no idea how many Lunar or Stellar Hasselblad has sold.

So where in your opinion is the difference?

There have been a couple of people suggesting (here in this forum) that a Panaleica is worth its price. Whereas everyone seems to be convinced that Hasselblad’s pricing is just ludicrous. It’s not even a thin line between somewhat pricey and ludicrous, it’s more like a wide gap.

Anyway, my point was that the T is neither a Panaleica nor a Sonyleica, but a Leica. If you should happen to like it, you won’t find a differently labeled but otherwise identical alternative at a lower price elsewhere.

My point was that Steve Huff is in fact spreading those rumours.

He wrote that the pictures did remind him of a NEX 3 or 5, not that Leica would introduce a rebadged Sony (NEX 3 or 5 or whatever). Saying that the camera’s design (provided the pictures did show the real thing) shows some resemblance to another vendor’s model has nothing to do with the rumours Stephen referred to.

The following pictures show an M (Typ 240) and a Sony NEX 7 with an adapter for M lenses mounted side by side.

[...]

Both cameras lie on the lens mount. no body caps attached. The ruler lies on the NEX's display.

Even without the hand grip the NEX is thicker than the M. It is less high, but not by as much as the RF's height. It is, however, quite a bit narrower (not shown).

The long red segment is what you measured, and the short red segment is the actual thickness of the NEX7 body.
