rnocke Posted April 20, 2007 Share #1  Posted April 20, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dear all,  I own a range of both Leica-R and Pentax equipment. Now, as I am looking into extending my stuff by a digital option I think about buying a Pentax Digital SLR because these seem to have the best (largest and brightest) viewfinders of all digital SLRs in the segment I am willing to invest in.  The question now is whether there is any possibility to adapt my R lenses onto the Pentax SLR. Has anyone ever heard of such an adapter? I don't want to go all-stoneage, i.e. with a 4/3 allowing adaptation of both Leica and Pentax but at the cost of all-manual working aperture operation...  Many thanks in advance for your help!  Conrad  PS: I have raised this question in the German forum already, just want to maximize my chances ;-)

dkCambridgeshire Posted April 20, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted April 20, 2007 I have never heard of a Leica R to Pentax K adaptor ... have only come across Leica R to EOS adaptor . Just tried to fit a Leica R lens into a Pentax K rear lens cap and there is no way it would ever fit as the R diameter is bigger than the K mount . In theory an adaptor could be made but would not have infinity focus by virtue of it being a tube. Â Dunk
harrisfoto Posted April 22, 2007 Share #3  Posted April 22, 2007 Go here to learn about lens registration distance and lens interchange between bodies: Photoethnography.com - Classic Cameras  Check here for adapters, Zork makes great adapters, will talk over the phone about what you want to do. I use adapters for Hasselblad lenses on a Leica R8 and DRM digital back. Everthing is manual! It's great!  Zörk Mount adapters
