rjans Posted January 4, 2014 Share #4 Posted January 4, 2014 Leica should make it possible in a firmware update. I would like to have the same possibilities like with my M8. Best
Guest Posted January 4, 2014 Share #5 Posted January 4, 2014 Leica should make it possible in a firmware update. I would like to have the same possibilities like with my M8. Best Yes, sometimes the M8 is slower when it stores both DNG and JPG files. But often you need the smaller JPGs for sorting and for a quick overview. For an amateur camera like the Vario-X it might be better, if Leica sets a visible standard by an internal interpretation of a JPG as a reference, before the image quality suffers too much from bad edits of worse bent DNGs. wda Posted January 4, 2014 Share #6 Posted January 4, 2014 Until it changes, just select the smallest Jpeg file to capture with DNG. In practice it isn't a real penalty. On tour, I sometimes use an Epson back-up device which cannot read raw files. So the arrangement of recording both formats can be useful. They are discarded during downloading because LR can produce any jpeg file you subsequently need.
larsv Posted January 5, 2014 Share #7 Posted January 5, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) On importing from de sd card, most apps give you the choice of importing DNGs only.
