hankg Posted April 20, 2007 Share #21 Posted April 20, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Here is the last version of the 135/2.8. With the goggles and a 1.33 magnifier it's like focusing a 50 (+ you get accurate framing). I can't imagine trying to focus a 135 without the additional magnification. Wonder why Leica ditched the goggles, they work very well. The 2.8 doesn't quite have the sparkling snap of the new 135 but it's a very nice portrait lens. I am thinking that the 65 elmar on the Viso can do double duty as a flattering old school portrait lens so the 135 may go. I am going to be doing some side by side tests to see. sean_reid Posted April 21, 2007 Share #28 Posted April 21, 2007 Well my 135mm apo just showed up and WOW this thing is very sharp lens even wide open , great choice for me. But what framelines should come up. i was hoping 28-90 would and i am getting 24-35 frames. Is this correct ??? Is there a way i can change it on a permenant basis to 28-90. i can use the lever which helps Hi Guy, It triggers the 35 because 24/35/135 all use the same bayonet pattern. Enjoy it. Cheers, Sean
Guest guy_mancuso Posted April 21, 2007 Share #29 Posted April 21, 2007 I sent a e-mail to our friends at leica this morning and asked about switching out the mount to the 28-90 frameline mount. There going to look into it and see if that can be done the see no real problem with the idea. At least the 90mm will give you a better approximation of the field of view. That was my hardest part was my framing because the focusing patch was hard to go by. I try to shoot not to crop at all or very little so this would help. The issue with the external finder is i can't use flash at the same time because i need the Hot shoe for the remote transmitter for strobes.
