sirimiri Posted February 2, 2014 Share #21 Â Posted February 2, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello,Taking closeup pictures is therefore much more comfortable with the R8 compared with the R9.. Â A very specific, but excellent point. Thank you, Peter.
roguewave Posted February 3, 2014 Share #22 Â Posted February 3, 2014 My two R8 bodies are the simply the BEST 35 MM film cameras I have ever used. I have shot several hundred rolls of TriX & have NEVER lost even a single frame, with & without my motordrives. Â Nothing else comes close.
Torquinian Posted April 18, 2014 Share #23 Â Posted April 18, 2014 I too had a meter failure, but other than that my R8 has been reliable since new at the end of 1999. Â John is correct - The "feel" of the camera is so right. Â The R9 is slightly lighter (I think the top plate is of titanium). Â I have had a R8 since new with the 60mm Macro Elmar and had no trouble. It is heavy though.
