carstenw Posted April 18, 2007 Share #1 Posted April 18, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have just bought a dual-range 50mm Summicron for more or less permanent usage on my M6 (see below), and was wondering about two things: My M6 has a slight vertical offset which I will probably fix myself at some point, but the goggles which the lens came with have a much greater offset. Is there some way to adjust this myself, or do I need to send them to Solms? The lens shade was hard to find, and I also have a nice metal lens cap, but they don't work together. Is anyone aware of a better solution to this conundrum? I hope to post some scanned B&W pictures taken with this combo soon. Thanks for any help. doubice Posted April 19, 2007 Share #2 Posted April 19, 2007 Carsten, The vertical offset of the rangefinder gets magnified with the DR optical attachment. If I were you, I would first start with the adjustment on your M6. As to the hoods - the proper one for the 50mm Summicron is part number 12585. The one on your outfit seems to be its predecessor, code named IROOA or 12571. The difference is that the 12585 has cut-outs so that you can see 'through it'. The cap used to be supplied with the hoods and the part number is 14033. Once you reversed the hood over the lens, the cap would fit over it. All the best, Jan

artaphoto Posted April 19, 2007 Share #4 Posted April 19, 2007 Carsten, Take care, do not attempt to unmount the lens when it is in the shortest focusing bebause the helical ramp at this point will works as a hook on your rangefinder lever wheel. Check this position with your lens in hand. Sincerely
budrichard Posted April 20, 2007 Share #5 Posted April 20, 2007 I've got the 12585 for my DR but unless outside I never use it. No problems with flare. -Dick
