otto.f Posted December 26, 2013 Share #21 Posted December 26, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was happily surprised when I unpacked my MM and found this leather strap, first thing I thought was: "finally Leica comes with a decent strap without the Japanese puzzle of attaching which was always giving me the creeps in the former straps". I still love it after a year of using it, it demands much less space, attention, etc. as Leica's nylon straps.
Advertisement Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Hi otto.f, Take a look here Monochrom Strap. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
nicks500 Posted January 1, 2014 Share #22 Posted January 1, 2014 I tried the MM strap for a few weeks but didn't like the stiffness of it so I used a Blackrapid curve strap off my dslr(later bought the Blackrapid metro as it's smaller), much better, more comfortable, and felt more secure not as pretty as the silk or leather after-market straps(in fact bloody ugly in comparison but I like it better
Mixalis Posted January 3, 2014 Share #23 Posted January 3, 2014 I also don't use the standard Leica strap. I can recommend two third-party straps in addition to the A&A silk strap (which has already been mentioned but is expensive). First, my favourite neckstrap is the Barton1972 Braided Style which is substantial and made from supple leather. Because of its round profile it doesn't flip over or get tangled. It also has a welcome springiness which allows the camera to ride really comfortably. Barton1972 also make the Braidy wrist strap which is similar to the neckstrap: Comfortable, high quality and perfect in use. The Gordy leather wrist strap is also a favourite of mine. At $18 it is also the cheapest but, despite this, the quality is excellent. On balance this is my No.1 wrist strap choice.
