iain225 Posted December 12, 2013 Share #1 Posted December 12, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have recently bought an HP 8750 along with a batch of inks (4yr old) but still sealed in packaging.I printed the above scene from Aperture. The image emerged almost like a solarised print with no pure blacks only silver and greys . There were no whites at all . The only Black was the border! Does the problem lie with the drivers or Aperture / printer This pic was taken with my M8 and edited with silver Effex pro. Any help greatly appreciated Welcome, dear visitor! Jeff S Posted December 12, 2013 Share #2 Posted December 12, 2013 Have you tested for clogs or run a cleaning cycle? Btw, inks also can deteriorate and, at a minimum, might require shaking. Jeff
iain225 Posted December 13, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted December 13, 2013 Hi Jeff Thank you for your comment. I had carried out a clean and calibration cycle. The test turned out quite well however I'm wondering if the paper has anything to do with it. I'm using Epson Matt Archive paper. Regarding your comment on ink dates . I shall try & pick up a new HP 102. Grey ink cartridge and see what results that gives.
Jeff S Posted December 13, 2013 Share #4 Posted December 13, 2013 Matt paper generally will not render deep blacks or bright whites, although your description suggests perhaps another issue. Seems obvious, but you should read the manual completely and be sure that all your settings and paper profile (for that specific paper) are set appropriately. Most manuals include tips and guides for set-up and for troubleshooting various issues. Jeff
