Advertisement Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Hi arvin, Take a look here ISO 640 / jpg, Sensor issues!! HELP!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
anttipoi Posted January 12, 2014 Share #42 Posted January 12, 2014 I noticed a similar vertical line yesterday with my M. I took a two-hour walk with the camera and after some time every photo had a vertical line of scattered yellow and black pixels in it in the same location. Since it was quite dark outside, I shot at 1600, so 640 is not to blame in my case. I noticed the feature when postprocessing. The funny thing is it does not happen anymore: I cannot repeat it. Outside temperature was just below 0 Celsius, maybe something like 28 F. I've email Leica customer care and await an answer… Teemu
woopie Posted January 12, 2014 Share #43 Posted January 12, 2014 Due to several issues it has, I think M240 is a "lemon" or not? Should an M-P solve mamy issues? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
jip Posted January 12, 2014 Share #44 Posted January 12, 2014 I haven't taken lots of pics at ISO 640 yets... since I always only use multiples of the base ISO... I did that with the M9 too... must be me lol M9: 160-320-640-1250 M240 200-400-800-1600-3200 etc... But to see if mine had the problem I tried it at 640, but no errors came up
Marac Posted January 12, 2014 Author Share #45 Posted January 12, 2014 Mine had a horizontal line with all settings!! How's your new M now? Everything working alright? Im still waiting for it to come back, will let you know the outcome. Apart from the same issue at ISO 640, the one they have loaned me until mine is fixed has been faultless. Leonil Posted January 13, 2014 Share #46 Posted January 13, 2014 I was seen by an array of gorgeous young ladies dressed in black bearing gifts of hot chocolate and mince pies. The tech I saw was indeed the gentleman with the white coat and glasses …. Ah, if only I can experience that kind of service here in Australia. The only time I was served hot beverages and food was at a charity event. Hoping a Leica store opens up here in Sydney so I only have to deal with Leica directly so I can find out how this excellent customer service looks like. ercinho Posted January 29, 2014 Share #47 Posted January 29, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) i have the same vertical line problem with ISO 640 *and* ISO 320. brand new M240, just taken out of the box. it appears that *all* images in ISO 320/640 have a vertical line but that all other ISO settings are fine. lethbrp Posted January 29, 2014 Share #48 Posted January 29, 2014 I had the line at ISO 640, they kindly swapped the camera out. I guess there were a series of defective sensors that hit the production line. They probably all escaped out into the retail chain before Leica realised there was a problem. jbl Posted January 29, 2014 Share #49 Posted January 29, 2014 I had this happen with my Monochrom. Weird behavior at ISO 10000 and lines appearing in the photos sometimes at lower ISOs. The sensor needed to be replaced.
Marac Posted February 1, 2014 Author Share #50 Posted February 1, 2014 Mine is still in Germany but has been delayed because they do not have the sensors and also the company is moving from Solms to Wetzlar This is month 3 for me and my 'Passport' is running out fast, not impressed at all, this is getting too damn long. Marac Posted March 5, 2014 Author Share #52 Posted March 5, 2014 I picked up my Leica Yesterday from Mayfair. As we all know the company moved from Solms to Wetzlar during my repair so it was delayed a bit. The camera has been repaired and performs as it should at all ISO that I have tested it with 640 first, then 100-200-400-800-1600 all seem fine. THANK YOU. the tonality seems nicer too for some weird reason, the files just look better, i put them alongside the files from the loan camera and mine definitely have more PUNCH! maybe they have done something, who knows. I did however have an issue with what I believe to be my card. Although it is a very decent 16GB card I forgot to reformat it for my camera and as a result (maybe) it did not record the first maybe 6-10 photos i took around London, when I got home I had a few missing.... This morning as I wake and write this, I have formatted the card on my Mac and then reformatted in camera, we shall see how this works. The service and communication from Leica UK was excellent. I am so happy to have my baby back, I hope she behaves herself.
