dseelig Posted April 17, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted April 17, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just wondering if people using the wate are using that big beast they made for it or the 21, 24 28 viewfinder. David
Advertisement Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Hi dseelig, Take a look here WATE viewfinder. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Nocti-Luchs Posted April 17, 2007 Share #2  Posted April 17, 2007 It is very big indeed, but very very good and easy to use. No need to change finders anymore when i use the CV 5,6/12 mm (adjust it to 16 mm with M8). Framelines are relativly exact compared to the ones in camera. What I like most is the bubble level. What a shame that it works only in landscape orientation.  Although I like this finder I am looking for the "old" multifinder (21-24-28) for the occasions when I don´t need the bubble level and/or don´t want to have such a big thing on my camera.  Hope this helps.. I bought one, and I've only used it once . . . so I'm going to sell it!
marknorton Posted April 17, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted April 17, 2007 I have both and much prefer the franken-finder.
Guest guy_mancuso Posted April 17, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted April 17, 2007 I use a straight Zeiss 21mm for the 16mm setting and for the 21mm setting i use the normal VF and guess. Although I may get the big one someday just to have in the bag
Englander Posted April 17, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted April 17, 2007 As I mentioned elsewhere, you may be happier using a Leica 24 finder than the older 21-24-28 turret. The 24 finder was pretty sloppy for the 24/2.8 itself, but works well with the WATE: the full viewfinder essentially shows the field of a 21; the outside of the frame lines delineate a 24; and the inside lines, a 28. Not as accurate as the big and well-designed finder but within a useful tolerance; smaller, and brighter than the turret. Â Joe
freusen Posted April 17, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted April 17, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have the 21-24-28mm Vario-finder, the finder is comfortable to use with the 21-24-28mm Tri-Elmar on a Leica M2-M7 or the 16-18-21mm WATE on a Leica M8. I have two of these finders and I am ready to sell a perfect, hardly used one in silver to Leica-User-Forum members. If you are living in Europe and interested to buy one, please contact me by PM.
