bla Posted November 16, 2013 Share #1 Posted November 16, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello M9 owners, I've been searching the internet in vain to find a M9 DNG sample taken in uncompressed mode (the 36MB file). If anyone of you having such a file on his disk (ideally one with high to full dynamic range in the image) was to share it with me I'd be very gracious! I can provide upload space on my website if needed. Thanks in advance and have a nice weekend, Arvid

plewislambert Posted November 19, 2013 Share #4 Posted November 19, 2013 Hi Arvid, here's a link to an uncompressed M9 Image I've taken this morning after having read your request: https://www.dropbox.com/l/7tOkvoSYQRTqQHnauwVH2a That's a nice sharp image, a lovely picture. Had you taken it with a compressed DNG image would the result look inferior? I ask because my M9 came already set to compress its DNGs and I wonder if anything is lost in compression. Thanks Philip:)
photolotse Posted November 19, 2013 Share #5 Posted November 19, 2013 Hi Philip, my commonly used setting is to use compressed DNGs as well. Only for this shot I've switched to an uncompressed DNG. My personal expectation would be, that I'm not able to see a difference between these two variants. But the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Cheers, Carsten
