DeskJockey Posted November 15, 2013 Share #1 Â Posted November 15, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everyone, new to this forum, thanks in advance for the advice. Â I have a R 28-70mm lens. At 70mm, it won't allow focus past (further) than something like 2 feet. If I first have the lens at 28mm and focus to infinity, if I zoom the lens, it won't go past 55mm. Â It looks to me, the optics retract into the barrel and will not retract past a certain point. Â Anyone else had that issue? Does it sound like a big repair? Â Lens focus ring, aperture ring, zoom ring otherwise has no issues and is smooth as butter.
Advertisement Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Hi DeskJockey, Take a look here R 28-70 lens issue. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ph. Posted November 15, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted November 15, 2013 sounds like my 35-70. It suddenly developed a zoom-dependent block against focussing but could be coaxed around. On shaking, it sounded like a loose ballbearing. It is now at Leitz for repair. Â p.
algrove Posted November 15, 2013 Share #3 Â Posted November 15, 2013 Sorry, can't help as I have never had an R zoom lens issue so far. Maybe it needs a trip to Solms.
