Kroy Posted November 3, 2013 Share #1 Posted November 3, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dear all, I need help, ! Captioned message is what I get upon start-up of my D-Lux 4, year 2009. On the monitor the "IN" icon is visible which indicates so much. There is an unlocked SD card in the slot, in fact, I have tried numerous cards which work fine on other Leica cameras, to no avail. It seems that the camera does not recognize the SD card. Firmware is the latest version 2.2. Anyway, I tried to re-install from an SD card but the camera would not read the card. I performed a reset too. The camera was at an authorised Leica service center back this May after dropping it into water. At that point I removed the card and battery before sending it off for servicing. I recall that after removing the SD card and powering on again there was a message that the camera would write to internal memory (which makes sense in the absence of a memory card) ... then it was serviced, and nothing has changed since albeit there is a card slotted in. From the service center's receipt I can derive that a firmware update was possibly performed, however, I recall that version 2.2 was on before I sent it off. Is there any way to switch back to writing to the SD card? Is there a way to prompt the camera to recognize and read the SD card? Your valuable input will be highly appreciated and I thank you very much in advance for any suggestions. Best Kroy

pop Posted November 6, 2013 Share #2 Posted November 6, 2013 It appears that the repairs were not entirely successful. The camera ought to recognize and use the SD card if there is one mounted.
photolotse Posted November 8, 2013 Share #3 Posted November 8, 2013 Is it possible to format the inserted SD or is the card unavailable completely? Cheers Carsten
Kroy Posted November 14, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted November 14, 2013 Thanks for your replies! Yep, it appears the repairs were a tad off! No, it is not possible to format the card (when inserted into the camera). Best Kroy
