steich Posted April 15, 2007 Share #1  Posted April 15, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, after shooting RAW+ b/w jpegs most of the time, today I switched to colour jpegs. I was astonished about how noisy the jpegs are, especially in the dark areas- look at the samples (complete picture, resized, and a 100% crop). Evening sun, 320 ASA, 1/45, CV15 with UV/IR-Filter, handcoded as WATE, camera set to 16mm eingestellt (FW 1.102). What is going on here? Or is it normal? Don´t tell me my M8 has a Nikon allergy ;-))  Regards Stefan

Guest sirvine Posted April 15, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted April 15, 2007 It's just underexposed there and you're getting JPEG artifacts, no? Seems pretty normal to me, but I never shoot JPEGs on the M8, so...
ibogost Posted April 15, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted April 15, 2007 Yeah, doesn't seem noisy to me either...
DaveEP Posted April 15, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted April 15, 2007 Looks pretty normal to me too. You are unlikely to see this on prints either. If you are really concerned you could run it through some noise reduction progams - e.g. Noise Ninja - but I don't think I would bother....
