Advertisement Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Hi David Freeman Photography, Take a look here Blog .. Wordpress or Tumblr. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Guest borge Posted October 29, 2013 Share #2 Posted October 29, 2013 Wordpress. Tumblr is more of a mini-blog service for posting very short stories or single images. But it all depends on what you prefer and what you need. They are both free services (wordpress.com and tumblr.com) so why don't you register on both and take them for a spin and see which you prefer? honcho Posted October 31, 2013 Share #7 Posted October 31, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Wordpress, but only self-hosted. Blogger is better for SEO but the canned themes are very limited and boringly recognisable because they all look the same. That apart, blogging is a far more personal, powerful and versatile platform for reaching a wider audience than image sharing sites like Flickr and 500px. My humble outdoor blog has kept me in gratis footwear for 10 years!

honcho Posted October 31, 2013 Share #9 Posted October 31, 2013 Your blog is hosted somewhere other than with Wordpress or Blogger under your own domain and you pay an annual hosting fee, you own it, but you can still have a custom domain with standard Wordpress or Blogger blogs. Both of these are self-hosted Wordpress blogsites.
Jeffry Abt Posted November 1, 2013 Share #10 Posted November 1, 2013 I use Wordpress my blog is fifty-fifty images & words. It is easy enough for a fellow that is not very "with it" when it comes to technology. I'm sure the blog could be better....but I'm not extremely motivated. gbealnz Posted November 1, 2013 Share #11 Posted November 1, 2013 I'm an ardent anti-social media sorta guy, I do not have a FB or Twitter account, never will. We did however do a 2 month trip to Europe recently, and used Blogger to keep a blog. This was primarily so friends and family could be on the trip vicariously. It worked a treat, very nice, and simple to operate, used the iPad every where we went. Gary
andybarton Posted November 6, 2013 Share #12 Posted November 6, 2013 I moved my blog (link below) from Blogger to Wordpress this February just gone and I've been very happy with it. I couldn't work out how to host it myself, so I don't bother. They host it for me.
Guest borge Posted November 6, 2013 Share #13 Posted November 6, 2013 I love WordPress.com - it's completely hassle and worry free experience. I don't see the huge advantage in self-hosted WordPress(.org) compared to .com for general blogging use. I've hosted my blog on WordPress.com for a couple of years now, and I'm very happy with it: Bo Photography WordPress.com has ZeManta integration directly in the WebUI now, and with the WordPress.com community and publications, tagging and reblogging system it's rather easy to get viewers very quickly! You won't get any of this on a self-hosted WordPress.org solution.
rpsattler Posted November 7, 2013 Share #14 Posted November 7, 2013 Tumblr. Purely because of how seamless and accessible the end user experience is for those who want to check out your work. Given the quality of iOS app development and the expansiveness of Tumblr's active network, the shortcoming of complete web design control [a great strength of Wordpress] is of minor importance to me.
