B+W IR cut W/ Cron 75 APO/ASPH

I'm looking at getting the APO 75mm Cron and will need a 49mm IR cut filter for it.

Has anyone use the B+W standard type filter with this lens and can you pull out the built in lens hood with the filter attached?

yes, I have used it with B+W 486. No problem with the lens hood.

Yes to both. And the lens cap snaps onto the filter with no problem.

 

I have a slim profile filter (that's what I happen to have) - a normal filter should also work fine (actually probably better in terms of giving the lens cap something to hold onto).

 

It's a lovely lens - you won't be disappointed. It's fingerprint is similar to the current 24 and the current 28 chron.

 

If you have a source of in stock 49 mm filters please send me a pm - I'm looking for another one.

Well I just ordered the Lens from B&H along with a B+W 49mm cut filter. B&H lists the filters as Special Order but the last time I ordered one from them, a 39mm, I had it in 4 days. I'm thinking B&H just lists them as Special Order so someone looking to stock up on them, limiting the availability for real users, and then sell them at a high price just passes on it. Hopefully it will be the same as it was for the 39mm and I'll have it around the time I get the lens.
