M8- Posted April 15, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted April 15, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Can someone help me to varify if the lens code sensor will emit some visible light when you press the shutter? I am wondering if my sensor has failed to detect the barcode on the lens. Can someone try to fire the shutter in darkroom without the lens attached to it, see if the sensor will emit some light. Advertisement Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Hi M8-, Take a look here Lens Code sensor question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Shootist Posted April 15, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted April 15, 2007 Put a coded lens on the camera. Take a shot. Review that shot on the camera. Hit the Info button. The screen that is displayed on the camera LCD will have in the upper righthand corner the mm of the lens. Now turn the camera off and change the lens to another coded one. Do the above steps again and it should have the proper mm reading for the new lens. If it does the sensor is working. If it doesn't then the sensor is not working. The coding sensor is IR so no it does not put out any visible light.
