mmayer Posted October 15, 2013 Share #1 Posted October 15, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi guys, I have an issue with using my M9 together with the studio-flash Calument Genesis 200. When using it with the M9 with a hotshoe-adapter then it does flash once on the first shot but won't do so after the first one. If I plug out the cable and plug it back in again it would again fire once... With another camera (Fuji X100S) I don't have that problem with the same setup. Hope you can help I guess this might be a common issue/question and I thought I just might need a remote-sync instead of a cable-one...but not sure. Advertisement Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Hi mmayer, Take a look here Leica M9 with external flash issue. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
hoppyman Posted October 15, 2013 Share #2 Posted October 15, 2013 Perhaps you have a marginal contact or problem in that adapter? I don't think that this is any problem with your Leica. I do recommend using a wireless control system. The one I have is from Elinchrom and works flawlessly. There are others of course.
Paul J Posted October 15, 2013 Share #3 Posted October 15, 2013 Sounds irritating. Do you have the shutter speed fixed at 180th? Does the hotshoe work with a flash gun attached? Could it be your PC Sync adapter? I second flash triggers. I have been buying expensive pocket wizards for years that, in use are no better than a cheap set of Calumet Wireless Triggers which I bought when I was caught on the hop one day. They are cheap and work flawlessly and are a fraction of the size of the Pocket Wizards too.
