jlancasterd Posted April 14, 2007 Share #1 Posted April 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I finally bit the bullet and collected a silver M8 from Cambrian Photography in Colwyn Bay this morning. It's an ex-demo unit, 31027xx, firmware 1.09 - I'm charging the battery as I write preparatory to installing 1.102. There was a very welcome discount... I checked the box in the shop and again since I got it home and can't find the usual little Leica booklet setting out the guarantee terms and providing a space for the dealer stamp and purchase date. Should there be one, or is the registration for the two free IR-cut filters (successfully completed) a substitute? As a matter of interest, how long is the guarantee on UK-delivered M8s? My M8 is an ex-demo unit, 31029xx. Looked brand new anyway and never been used. In the box was an instruction on how to to register for the IR filters although you get there if you go to the Leica web and register on-line which then leads to a screen where you order your filters. Also was the registration card, I just sent a copy of my invoice since the card was not stamped. I could have slipped back to them but it made no difference.
