1234 Posted October 11, 2013 Share #1 Posted October 11, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have just upgraded after 6 years from M8 to M240. Is LR-5 notably better than the CaptureOne 5 that I have been using with the M8 and which also works with M240? Using PC. The answer may be obvious and well known, one way or the other, but I am not at all expert or informed in these matters. User of M3->MP for 50 years... Thanks. Advertisement Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Hi 1234, Take a look here LR-5 vs C1-5. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wattsie Posted October 12, 2013 Share #2 Posted October 12, 2013 The answer is kinda obvious in that you are comparing a current version of lightroom with a very old version of C1. LR5 would be undoubtedly better than C1 5 (now two iterations behind C1 7). You need to assess LR5 against C1 7. I have used both and have broadly settled on C1 7 again, having used C1 in the past. The C1 7 processing engine is very good, I like the interface and the ability to customise, but it does take a bit of time to learn. There is a great new video tutorial series on the LuLa site. That said, you can get great results from both programmes. Best to download trial versions and play around for yourself. Everyone works differently, likes different interfaces etc, so it's pretty personal at the end of the day. Jason
