This is a nice set (with the others of course) - hard to tell which I prefer.

 

I do notice that your partner is 33 years old though - that's a nice sharp lens on the D2

Thank you for your comment. It is much appreciated. Let's hope she never finds this thread for she might argue that the Summicron is TOO sharp!!

 

After re-reading the thoughts I listed, it hit me that the "M8" should represent the best of both worlds. Unfortunately, that means that I probably would have to get her involved after all...

great looking photo and, more importantly, good looking kid! congrats on your new addition. this photo exemplifies the high level of clarity achievable with the D2, though the skin tones may be a tad warm in this shot.

Thank you for the congratulations Dave. You are right on the skin tones. I had to run the photos through Neat Image and do a little bit of post-processing. More often than not, I end up with something that looks more artificial than the unprocessed image.

Is it just me, or are people more and more looking for neutral colors. While with film we were used to a yellowish (warm) tint, we are now all hunting for the perfect gray. Personally, I do actually often prefer a warmer look - even though it is probably an acquired taste.
