edwardkaraa Posted October 5, 2013 Author Share #21 Posted October 5, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Isopropyl works much better than Visible Dust in my recent MM cleaning experience but you may find it's hard or next to impossible to buy ISP 99% in Bangkok. BTW, you can mix ISP with lab grade distill water to dilute it a little. Heard that Solhms uses 70%. Send me message if you want to try. I got a lot to spare. Thank you very much Teera. If I don't find it in Central World this evening, I will get in touch with you.

edwardkaraa Posted October 5, 2013 Author Share #22 Posted October 5, 2013 Although I don't have it here to check, I got a small bottle at either Boots or Waltons (don't recall) at Central World. —Mitch/Paris Bangkok Hysteria [download link for book project] Thank you Mitch! I'm going to Central World tonight so I hope to find it there.
edwardkaraa Posted October 5, 2013 Author Share #23 Posted October 5, 2013 Please double check your CCD if you can see very tiny shine pieces. My M9 does have the same problem. I shipped my M9 to Leica, and CCD was replaced. No my sensor doesn't have the flaking coatings problem. However, this problem is believed to be caused by the removal of the dry oil spots that have damaged the sensor coatings. I hope none of these appear after I remove the oil. teeraash Posted October 5, 2013 Share #24 Posted October 5, 2013 Hi Edward: When you wipe the sensor with wet solution, oil spot may streak and you may have to wet wipe it 4-5 times. Some said ISP 99% is better that 70% as it is more pure some said that 70% is better than 99% as it won't weld particular kind of dirts on the sensor. Why is that, I don't know. Good luck to your endeavor.
edwardkaraa Posted October 6, 2013 Author Share #25 Posted October 6, 2013 Thank you very much for the advice Teera. I think I will use the 99% solution because it will streak less.
Doc Henry Posted October 6, 2013 Share #26 Posted October 6, 2013 Edward, with a little patience, you can do the cleaning yourself. Eclipse or Eclipse 2 + sensor swab type 3 (for M9), an illuminated Led magnifier (eg Visible dust) Sometimes one or two dust I remove it with stick Pentax The blower (eg super giant blower) is good but sometimes it brings dust that was on the edge of the camera housing. I have it but little use If still spots ,must be repeated again and again until all starts That's how I've been doing for four years Best Henry
